A beautiful Victorian era hand-colored photograph was found in the attic, where it was laid neglected for many years. The descendent of the little girl in the picture found it just in time to rescue it from silverfish and other critters who were about to devour all of the paper, oil paint, and photo emulsion.
To bring the photograph back to life, it was cleaned of layers of dust, debris, and insect marks. Careful retouching filled in the missing parts of the photograph that were eaten away by bugs.
In the final stage of restoration, the image was enlarged and printed on fine art paper to be framed and displayed together with other treasured family heirlooms.
