A1880s portrait of a rabbi was restored for a book on Jewish history. The photograph was carefully retouched to remove creases, scratches, and mildew stains, and the missing areas were digitally painted in.
Special attention was given to preserving the authenticity of the image. No shortcuts were taken, such as the application of Photoshop dust and scratch removal or blur filters that could have affected the details of Rabbi’s features or other important details on the photograph.
By the publisher’s request, Rabbi's signature, stamp, and the impression of his seal were added to the image, and a slight sepia tone was applied to give the restored photo a vintage appearance.
