Some of the colorized and oil-tinted photos that were brought to the studio for restoration suffered heavily from the passage of time. Many have faded, and the paint has peeled and broken from exposure to sunshine and temperature variations. Other pictures had been stained and tarnished.
A beautiful photograph of young ballerinas reminiscent of impressionists' paintings was damaged by paint splashes and exposure to dust and cigarette smoke.
The photograph was retouched to even the tone of the background, missing areas were carefully filled in, and an overall correction of color and brightness was applied to the final image.
