HENRI MATISSE IN NEW YORK CITY
Grey New York City skyline, isn't what first comes to mind of an art experts or aficionados whenever the name of Henri Matisse
is mentioned. But there he is, the great master himself, relaxing on a rooftop with the view of Queensborough Bridge, the Roosevelt Island, and Queens in the background, on the photograph taken in 1930 by his son Pierre
After the original photograph was cleaned and scanned it was further retouched to remove the chemical stains and to restore the faded areas to their original appearance. A large size print was produced to be displayed at a lobby of 10 Mitchell Place building where Henri Matisse resided during his stay in New York.
